Deadline reports that Eva Green has landed the female lead opposite Johnny Depp in the forthcoming adaptation of the 1960s cult television show. Green will play Angelique, "a powerful witch who was alternately tormented and bewitched by her love-hate relationship with Barnabas Collins (Depp)."

What can we say? We're big Green fans and we're glad to see her back in a big picture (after knocking around a few indie pictures that haven't done much). Production on Burton's "Dark Shadows" is scheduled to begin in April and is likely to hit theaters in 2012.
