Evangeline Lilly Headed To 'Ant-Man'

"It would take a lot, it would take a pretty darn impressive project for me to play a kind of tank top-wearing, tomboy girl, woman. I don’t want to say I’m bored with that because that might be a bit too extreme, but I just feel like I have exhausted that part of my performing life," Evangeline Lilly told us in December about reprising Kate-like roles after she shot to fame on "Lost." And indeed, she kicked a whole lot of butt as Tauriel in "The Hobbit: Desolation Of Smaug." So we're certainly curious what's drawing her to Marvel.

THR reports that Lilly is in early talks to join Edgar Wright's "Ant-Man." Of course, the part and any details are under wraps, but the trade says her role "is not intended to be a one-off appearance." Well, duh. At this point, someone please alert us when a major actor is cast and doesn't have multiple potential appearances in their contract. Anyway, Lilly will be joining a rather eclectic cast that includes Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Michael Pena.

So speculate away below on who she might be playing. "Ant-Man" opens on July 17, 2015.
