Sometimes the most frightening thing in the world isn't ghouls and goblins, it's the dangers lurking just outside your door. And for SXSW audiences this year, they felt that chill right up their collective spine as they voted Ciarán Foy's psychological horror picture "Citadel" the Midnight Audience Award winner in March. And with the film now headed to theaters, we've got a clip to show you a peek at what the buzz is all about.
Aneurin Barnard stars as Tommy Cowley, who is attacked alongside his pregnant wife, and after a shocking act of violence, is left to raise his newborn daughter alone. Suffering from agoraphobia, Tommy undergoes intense therapy and works hard to return to a normal life, but the same hooded gang returns, seemingly intent on kidnapping his daughter, forcing him to take on the thugs to save his family. Powerful stuff, and as you'll see in the scene below, Tommy is struggling to learn how to deal with the terror he has inside his damaged shell.
"Citadel" opens in limited release this Friday, November 9th. Watch the clip below.
