The World"), Alia Shawkat ("Arrested Development"), Jane Adams ("Happiness"), Kelli Garner ("Thumbsucker," "Pan Am") and an appearance by Gerry Bednob ("The 40-Year-Old Virgin"), "The Lie" is based on a T.C. Boyle short story that first appeared in the New Yorker and centers on a man (Leonard) whose life inadvertently changes when he tells a lie to get out of work.

Leonard and Weixler play romantic young idealists who get sidelined with their change-the-world aspirations when an unanticipated pregnancy derails their plans. Instead of making their artistic mark on the planet, the pair become trapped in a routine, nine-to-five bourgeois nightmare they cannot escape from. Loathing his job, a random decision finds Leonard's character telling a shocking lie to justify his absence -- the consequences of which spiral beyond his control with the serio-comedic drama chronicling how a momentary lapse of judgment can lead to life-altering calamities.

The picture is Leonard's first solo directorial effort, after co-directing the winning 1990s DIY movement documentary, "Beautfiul Losers" which featured Shepard Fairey, Mike Mills, Harmony Korine and many other notable street artists. Screen Media will releasing the film on November 18th in limited release with a simultaneous VOD release according to the original press release. Check out the full poster below.
