10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesCiting strong viewer numbers (1.3 million for the season premiere and 1.1 million for the finale, which isn't a bad hold at all), HBO will give "Eastbound & Down" another eight episodes for a fourth season. The move is certainly a big surprise, with the renewal coming more than two months after the show ended, but it seems the cable network is looking to bolster their comedy offerings, which currently include "Girls" and "Veep." This continues a busy, pre-July 4th day down at HBO as they also re-upped "The Newsroom" and "True Blood." Talk about fireworks.
No word yet on which of the regulars or frequent guest stars will return, but considering that everyone involved has a blast with the a show, we're guess folks like Will Ferrell, Jason Sudeikis and even Matthew McConaughey will try and clear time in their schedule if the requests are made. So Kenny Powers fans, good news -- the pitcher is coming off the bench once again. [Variety]
