Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
Some filmmakers you can count on being at Comic-Con every year no matter what, and Robert Rodriguez is one of them. In fact, check out this interesting fact. Warner Bros. and D.C. used two hours of Hall H Comic-Con time to promote three films and probably a handful of other projects. In contrast, Dimension Films is using an entire hour for one film and one film only, “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For” (sorry I refuse to put Frank Miller’s name in the title as that’s just needlessly long, at least Lee Daniels legally had to). If there’s a studio or a filmmaker who loves and lives and dies by his Comic-Con crowd, Rodriguez is certainly close to the top and today, the trailer unspooled in San Diego has landed online.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
Moments ago in San Diego, Robert Rodriguez, Frank Miller and the cast of “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For” finished up their Comic-Con panel in Hall H. With an hour dedicated to the film (most panels are apportioned an hour per studio), the filmmakers wasted no time, showing the first scene and announcing intentions for a third film.

Sin City: Dame To Kill For Rosario Dawson Poster Crop
With the "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" controversy over Eva Green and her boobs now ended, the focus is turning back to the movie itself. Last week, we got a brand new trailer, and today comes the first clip, and together, they make the case that the second time around may not be as fun or inviting as the original "Sin City" nine years ago.

Sin City A Dame To Kill For
Among the big high-profile comic book sequels of the year ("Captain America," "The Amazing Spider-Man" et al.), there's one that's been a little more under the radar: "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For," Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's sequel to their 2005 green-screen noir. But the marketing campaign is starting to gear up in a big way, with the film's release only a couple of months away, and hot on the heels of that 'controversial' poster (emphasis on the quotation marks, Mr. Weinstein), a new trailer has just landed for the movie.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
As you probably heard by now, "Sin City: Dame To Kill For" was recently caught up in a mini-controversy, when the prudes at the MPAA got all hot under the collar over the one sheet that centered on the curvaceous Eva Green. Lots of ink was spilled, Dimension Films got the free promo they wanted and life moved on, but for Green herself, she doesn't get what the MPAA got so worked up about in the first place, and she starts out by clearing up a misconception.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
The Weinstein Company (and their genre label Dimension) sure know how to exploit "negative" publicity. So when an alert lands in our mailbox about a poster for "Sin City: A Dame To Kill" for running foul of the MPAA, one has to wonder if the studio knew exactly what they were doing when submitting it in the first place. And in this case, we're pretty Harv and co. had a pretty good idea what would happen when this poster design went out the door.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
“Sex is absolutely what helps sell this movie, which is fine by me,” Jessica Alba told EW, and she's spot on about what's going to get audiences to buy tickets for this one. Oh sure, "Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" is a sequel to the groundbreaking hit "Sin City," but the movie also promises skin, sleaze and good old fashioned violence, and you can get a sense of all that with these new pics.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
Jessica Alba is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly this week (hello!) and while her skimpy bikini look has nothing to do with the black-and-white, contrasty-looking photography of Robert Rodriguez’s “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For,” we suppose it was a “sex-sells” decision. Alba on the cover means pimping the movie and that means promo material of some kind. So that means five new character posters from the film featuring Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
