The summer movie season is nearly upon us, but one of the most hotly tipped summer movies (at least for film fans of a certain ilk) still doesn't have a release date in America: Bong Joon-ho's sci-fi extravaganza "Snowpiercer." The Weinstein Company bought the domestic rights to the movie, which concerns a train traversing a post-apocalyptic, snow-covered earth, and initially had planned to release it this summer, when the movie rolls out globally. But they haven't said much, so god only knows when it will wash up on American shores. Until then, a recently released behind-the-scenes clip (courtesy of The Film Stage) gives us our first look at "Snowpiercer" in motion.

Well, it turned out be an old photo from a fashion shoot, but she's finally revealed in these new character posters for "Snowpiercer" and it's still pretty surprising. Awesomely so.

In a few short weeks, the Cannes Film Festival will unveil their slate for 2013, and while speculation continues to swirl about which movies will make the trip to the south of France, one of the highly touted titles is Bong Joon-ho's "Snowpiercer." It's certainly been engaged in a slow-build marketing campaign, with posters and images dripping out here and there, and today comes another bit of interesting material with character posters for everyone involved.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" would open this year's Cannes Film Festival, still the most prestigious, and arguably most important event on the cinematic calendar. And today, March 14th, marks the last day on which films can be seen by the selection panel for the festival, which kicks off May 15th.

It seems the release or premiere of Bong Joon-ho's "Snowpiercer" keeps getting closer and closer, and certainly it's one we're very excited about. The latest star-studded effort by the helmer behind "The Host" and "Mother" is beginning to show a bit more behind the curtain, and after some concept art and an official image, the first (non-sales) poster arrived.

With the awards season in full swing, and the Sundance Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival coming up, it's easy to forget that sometimes you just want to sit back with a big tub of popcorn, more soda than is legal in New York City and go a thrill ride. These three upcoming movies will hope to accomplish that, and we have some new images to get you ready for what's to come.

It looks like The Weinstein Company has been busy this week picking up movies. With an Oscar slate that already (potentially) includes "The Master," "Django Unchained," "Silver Linings Playbook" and "The Intouchables," they've got another ace up their sleeve. But first, they've nabbed a movie that's already high on our list for 2013.

Versatile Danish thesp Mads Mikkelsen is set to team with "Man On A Ledge" helmer Asger Leth for road film "Move On." Developed by Matt Greenhalgh (screenwriter of "Control" and "Nowhere Boy"), the story begins with a flawed hero, stepping off a boat in Rotterdam before traveling across Europe to deliver a mysterious silver suitcase. Lensing will take the production across eight different countries in a hectic 30-day chronological shoot, and will unusually involve the participation of film fans from 11 countries in areas such as casting, location and props. More details can be found at the film's website, but each country's shoot will make up a 5-8 minute segment of the movie, with a shoot commencing this summer before a September unveiling.
