First Look At James Franco In Harmony Korine's 'Spring Breakers' Plus More Pics Of Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez & More

Harmony Korine has made movies with dudes fucking garbage, nuns jumping out of planes, and Die Antwoord riding around in wheelchairs, but nothing is quite like "Spring Breakers." Boasting a cast of young Hollywood babes -- and James Franco -- and (relatively speaking) as mainstream a plot as anything he's ever done, this might be the weirdest movie the director has ever made simply by nature of being totally unlike his previous work. And a bunch of images have been appearing online in the past few weeks, so we've rounded some of them up here -- but let's start right from the top.

Boasting cornrows, messy facial hair, some swag shades and a colorful shirt, James Franco is looking like some kind of cross between Kenny Powers and Kevin Federline. And it's glorious. To recap, the film stars Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine (yes, his wife) and follows four college-aged girls who decide to rob a fast food restaurant in order to pay for the annual getaway, and who get thrown in the slammer once they get there. A rapping drug and arms dealer (Franco, amazing) bails out the girls, and coaxes them to kill his nemesis named (of course) Arch.

It also sounds ridiculous and pitched through Korine's distinct filter, we can only imagine what the result will be. But as these images bear out, at the very least, the shoot looks like it has been a blast. And certainly, with a bunch of wholesome young actresses pracing around in bikinis and acting bad, the paparazzi have been out in full force. Anyway, check it all out below. I am so very confused about my feelings towards this one. Do I like this? Should I feel threatened by the mainstream vibe? Is it cliche to put a bunch of Disney tween sensations in a Harmony Korine film, or is it refreshing that they'd be willing to give a big middle finger to Mickey Mouse and agree to be in it? Should I just shut the hell up and just be happy that Harmony Korine is releasing a new movie? I think I'm being pulled apart at the seams by the very thought of this film.

i say get freakin' excited about a new Harmony Korine movie :) all of his work is beyond words; it has never really been about the cast so much as the direction. don't let the fact that these girls are not experienced in the genre make you fret :) i'm excited to see the way they vibe with franco, and how well they take a different kind of direction. this will by far be another impressive film by Harmony Korine :)

Get over it obviously Hollywood is not interested in your lack of knowledge or taste so they cast Vanessa and from what we hear she kicks ass in both Gimme Shelter and Frozen Ground.

Oh btw it's called auditioning - do you need a dictionary also.
