10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesWith the the film now shooting, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has tweeted the first look at Armie Hammer as the titular hero and Johnny Depp as his sidekick Tonto, and it's pretty solid. Hammer nicely saddles up, five o'clock shadow and all, into the lead role while Depp once again dives into the dress up kit over at Disney to outfit himself as Tonto. Of course, the performances and tone will make or break this one, but the duo definitely at least look the part.
As for what we can expect, Hammer recently told us: "There are no miracles, and there are no shapeshifters," he said, referring to rumors about the script. "More than anything else, this is a fantastic adventure and a buddy comedy. It's more about the relationship between Tonto and the Lone Ranger, and the way they help each other."
Co-starring William Fichtner, Tom Wilkinson, Ruth Wilson, Helena Bonham Carter and James Badge Dale, "The Lone Ranger" will ride on May 31, 2013.

I like the monochromatic look for the costumes, but Depp just looks like Captain Jack Sparrow with a freakin bird on his head.

Dang. Armie Hammer is a handsome man. It's weird though looking at Depp. From the neck down it's pretty solid. But from the neck up all I can think is "Okay... Johnny Depp is playing dress up again."

This should be dope. For these articles about a first image from a movie being released, I'd love it if all the text underneath it said was, "There it is. Yep... 'The Lone Ranger' will ride on May 31, 2013."

More Jodorowsky influences on Verbinski's part? Let's hope.

AWESOME! The picture looks like the cover for an Alice Cooper Country Album, I just can't wait to see Depp ham it up again for Disney. Fingers crossed on at least 4-5 sequels.
