10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesMartin McDonagh, the director of "In Bruges," has a new pitch-black comedy called "Seven Psychopaths" starring Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken, and co-starring Woody Harrelson, Abbie Cornish, Tom Waits, Olga Kurylenko and Zeljko Ivanek (who starred in McDonagh's amazing Broadway play "The Pillowman"). As of this morning, the movie is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in the Midnight Madness section.
Here's the official synopsis: Written and Directed by Oscar®-winner Martin McDonagh, the comedy Seven Psychopaths follows a struggling screenwriter (Colin Farrell) who inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends (Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell) kidnap a gangster’s (Woody Harrelson) beloved Shih Tzu. Co-starring Abbie Cornish, Tom Waits, Olga Kurylenko and Zeljko Ivanek.
"Seven Pyschopaths." will be in theaters November 2012 from CBS Films, but those hitting Toronto will be able to see it two months early. More images from the film can be seen here.
