Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone starring in a musical? You don't have to tell me twice to get me to buy a ticket. Now toss in the director of "Whiplash," Damien Chazelle, and you have one of 2016's most anticipated films, and the first look at "La La Land" has arrived.
“There’s an incredible romanticism in L.A. that you don’t always see when you’re stuck in traffic on the 405,” Chazelle told EW about his movie, which follows a young couple — actress Mia and jazz pianist Sebastian — who try to keep their relationship together in a city of cutthroat careerism. The movie will also feature a supporting role for J.K. Simmons, who took home an Oscar for his turn in "Whiplash."
Get ready to sing and dance when the film opens on July 15, 2016.
