10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesWe've been following this movie so closely, you already know that Douglas plays the flamboyant Liberace, with Damon as his lover Scott Thornson, and the movie tracks their tragic and doomed relationship. But if you think that it's all going to be fabulous clothes and camp acting, guess again. "It's really just Michael [Douglas] and Matt [Damon], it's a real two-hander. It's got a great supporting cast but the heart of the movie is the two of them, and they just kind of did a 'Thelma And Louise,' they just jumped off the cliff together and I never had to push them at all, they knew exactly where this thing needed to go," director Steven Soderbergh recently told us about his final film. "I think people would be surprised at how emotional it is. It's not a cartoon."
Rejected by Hollywood studios for being "too gay," Soderbergh found a home at HBO for the project, which will hit the cable network in the spring, with a Cannes Film Festival premiere looking very, very likely. No exact air date yet, but stay tuned. Check out the full image below. [BuzzSugar]
