Over the past day or so, the Twittersphere has been buzzing about the various set pics that have landed for "Caught In Flight," aka the movie where Naomi Watts is playing Princess Diana. And with good reason. She looks remarkably like the late royal, to the point where it's a bit eerie. But perhaps to quell the unofficial images and/or build on the buzz, the filmmakers behind the movie have dropped the first official pic, and yeah, it's still pretty impressive how much they look alike.

Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel and written by Steven Jeffreys ("The Libertine"), the film will focus on Diana's affair with Dr. Hasnat Kahn (played by "Lost" star Naveen Andrews) that lasted from 1995 until a few months before her death in 1997. He was regarded by many to be the love of her life, and she was said to be devastated when the relationship was over, with some speculating that she dated Dodi Fayed in order to make him jealous.

While Hirschbiegel's record is a bit all over place ("Downfall," "The Invasion"), the story here is undoubtedly compelling, and certainly with Watts in the lead it has our attention. No release date or distributor yet. [Kinopoisk]

I really wanted Jessica Chastain in this. She would've done a better job and looks more like her. But I am sure Watts will do fine.

Fuck this shit. This isn't cinema. I miss Diana like cray, and I don't want to see her cheapened by The Biopic Club.

I don't care, is actress similar to the real person 100% or not... For me acting is the main criteria, and we can trust on Naomi Watts, she'll amazing in this movie. Naomi can save even dummy commercial movie from C- to B+.

Sorry but she doesn't look like her AT ALL. Everything but the hair is wrong. Wrong facial features, wrong height... Joely Richardson should have been cast but she's not famous enough. And I say this as a fan of Watts. But then Streep didn't look that Thatcher either and she won the Oscar so I still think Watts will win it, even though her good friend Kidman will probably be more believable as Grace Kelly.

Helen Mirren doesn't look like the queen, Jesse Eisenberg doesn't look like Mark Zuckerberg, Tom Hulce doesn't look like Mozart, Anthony Hopkins doesn't look like Nixon and so on...
It doesn't matter if the actor doesn't look exactly like the person they're playing, as long as the performance is good.

Finally, I smell Oscar nomination for Naomi. She really deserves a recognition.
