After acclaim for his low-key dramas like "Man Push Cart" and "Goodbye Solo," Ramin Bahrani has assembled his first "Hollywood cast" (if you want to put it that way) for "At Any Price," which he will be bringing under his arm to Toronto.

Starring Zac Efron, Dennis Quaid, Heather Graham, Kim Dickens and more, the film will take viewers to the Midwest where a clash of generations will unfold. Here's the official synopsis: Set in the competitive world of modern agriculture, ambitious Henry Whipple (Dennis Quaid) wants his rebellious son Dean (Zac Efron) to help expand his family’s farming empire. However, Dean has his sights set on becoming a professional race car driver. When a high- stakes investigation into their business is exposed, father and son are pushed into an unexpected situation that threatens the family's entire livelihood.

There is no release date or distributor for this film yet.

Bahrani an amazing director. I wonder what he could do, directing the real Hollywood cast.
Zac Efron in this year was presented in 3 independent films, on the best festivals. The guy turned resolutely toward an independent movies?

A good-news post. As long as Mr. Bahrani can keep his vision and approach to storytelling, the cast won't and shouldn't matter. (IMDb is showing Heather Graham, Clancy Brown) Fortunate for him that the cast (while principally white, the real "Hollywood" element") has been willing to stretch themselves and take chances.
