10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesArguably the biggest addition though is Jim Carrey, whose casting came as somewhat of a surprise despite his vocal support of Vaughn’s first movie. Carrey stars as Colonel Stars, who in Mark Millar’s comic is an ex-mafia member turned vigilante who forms Justice Forever – this universe’s answer to the Justice League or The Avengers. Well, the first official image for the movie has now dropped and unsurprisingly it features their new biggest star (unless Nic Cage does return, that is) having a chat with Taylor-Johnson’s Kick Ass in one of the seedier areas of Toronto.
Pictured alongside Carrey is Colonel Stars’ trusty companion Sophia, and we’d imagine the scene represented here is the one in which Colonel Stars attempts to recruit Kick Ass for Justice Forever. The movie will see Kick-Ass and Justice Forever doing battle with The Mother Fucker and his own band of super-villains, The Toxic Mega-Cunts, in a story that surely has to be toned down from just how insane it gets in the comics. Hopefully Wadlow can reign in Millar just as Vaughn did before him, because if he does, the potential is here for another hugely enjoyable subversion (and celebration) of the genre. [ComingSoon]
