"You will know her name," the tagline goes, and with one month before the worst prom ever, the promo machine is heating up for "Carrie," and today brings with it the first ad you'll see for the next weeks on your television on repeat, along with a batch of new stills.
What can we tell you about this remake that you don't already know? It's a remake of Brian De Palma's seminal horror, based on the novel by Stephen King, and while our usual reaction is to run in the opposite direction, there are three reasons we're curious. It's being directed by Kimberley Peirce of "Boys Don't Cry" fame, it's got Chloe Grace Moretz in the lead role, with Julianne Moore as her crazy mama. All ingredients that could create something truly special, but the proof will be in the buckets of blood.
"Carrie" gets asked out on October 18th.
