First Official Look: Andrew Garfield In 'Spider-Man'

Indiewire By Kevin Jagernauth | Indiewire January 13, 2011 at 8:25AM

After Sony let W magazine give us the first fantastic look at Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," they've gone ahead and dropped the first look at Andrew Garfield in "Spider-Man" themselves, and well, the studio is still batting 100%. We really dig the new look of the Spidey suit, and Garfield's young scarred visage with the backpack slung over a shoulder indicates the picture is headed in the right direction.

Of course, Andrew Garfield is Peter Parker with Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans and Irrfan Khan as the villains, and Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Julianne Nicholson, Annie Parisse, Chris Zylka and C. Thomas Howell also among the cast. Marc Webb’s put together quite the ensemble, and this is one superhero reboot that we’re feeling optimistic about.

"Spider-Man" hits theaters on July 3, 2012 in glorious 3D.
