Freida Pinto Is The Latest Actress Spotted Shooting Terrence Malick's 'Knight Of Cups' With Christian Bale

As production on Terrence Malick's "Knight Of Cups" continues in Los Angeles, more unannounced cast members keep being discovered from set photos published online. First it was Wes Bentley, then Imogen Poots, now the latest piece of the puzzle is "Slumdog Millionaire" actress Freida Pinto, who has been spotted shooting opposite the film's star Christian Bale on the same beach shore on which Natalie Portman and Bentley were also seen frolicking.

Despite already romancing Portman in the pic, the intimacy seen here between Bale and Pinto suggests another love interest for Bale's character and it probably won't be the last we'll be seeing of this sort of thing, as Malick's Texan music scene love-triangle tale (formerly known as "Lawless") due to shoot this fall as well. It's anyone's guess what the story details for "Knight Of Cups" will be, however, the title is definitely a reference to the titular tarot card, which represents a contradiction, moodshift or a change of mode particularly pertaining to love and relationships. Make of that what you will.

Also part of the cast are Cate Blanchett, fellow Aussie actress Isabel Lucas and an unnamed pelican, who can been seen below chewing the scenary with Bale and Bentley at a pier. Will there be more names following Pinto and the pelican here? We'll have to wait and see. [Instagram/GossipCenter/ONTD]

What is the big deal about this actress? She can't act and looks plain compared to most of the hollywood beauties. Is this going to be another 12 minute role for her? She hardly did anything in Slumdog Millionare too.

I feel the same way too. She is overrated. Hasn't displayed any acting talent. Her agent is doing miracle work. Besides, aren't Natalie Portman and Cate Blacnhett in this movie too? If this movies does well it will be because of them and Mr Bale.

@Anonymouse: These are pretty similar to the set pics with Portman, so I wonder if it's a "memory film" like The Tree of Life, with memories of past romances merging into one another in his head. Just a theory, I dunno. I have a feeling some of these actresses won't get a lot of screentime, though.

@david: Yeah, indeed. I guess her passing is just on my mind. Wow, what an awful comparison on my part. From what I gather, the story is about a screenwriter philandering about, maybe searching for inspiration for a screenplay? I've only seen two males in the pics of filming - Bale and Bentley. I wonder if any filming has taken place within studio grounds.

a pretty damn successful screenwriter by the looks of his clothes and automobile (as seen in previous pics).

btw, any chance this may be a comedy? i'm getting a strong comedic vibe from the shots with poots, blanchett, portman, and the pelican. maybe it's more lighthearted fare than the typical malick film? not an all out seth rogan comedy, but more in vein with nora ephron's work? hmmm....
