Review: 'The Immigrant'CBS Films are planning an adaptation of the bestselling Geoffrey Gray novel “Skyjack: The Hunt For D.B. Cooper” and Gluck has been lined up to produce and direct. The novel is an action-comedy (another one!) about a man who hijacked a plane in 1971, and demanded $200,000 and parachutes before jumping out over the Pacific. He was never caught and has been hailed as a folk hero, and the book tells the story from the perspective of three different people claiming to be him.
It sounds like a very interesting story, and if we were asked to pick a director right now to tell an unconventional and potentially fourth-wall-breaking comedy, we’d point you straight in Gluck’s direction. However, with so many irons in the fire it will be interesting to see which projects Gluck perseveres with and which ones he has to move on from. Gluck’s currently mid-way through a two-year Sony deal too, so we’d have to imagine that his projects over there will take priority, and maybe 'Skyjack' is a project that he’ll get to once that deal expires.
