While vampires, werewolves and sorts of supernatura subject matter aren't going away anytime soon, it seems that international auteurs are getting in on the action. Christoph Gans is currently in the midst of "Beauty & The Beast" with Vincent Cassel and Lea Seydoux, and this summer, Neil Jordan takes on vampires in "Byzantium," and yes, there will be blood.

A batch of new images from the film have landed, giving a pretty nice look at the players involved. Leading the way are Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan, a mother and daughter duo of vampires, who take up residence in a seaside town. The latter falls in with the sickly Caleb Landry Jones, and the former (as you might guess from the lingerie), starts her own enterprising business. Sam Riley is in the mix as another bloodsucker on their tail, while Daniel Mays gets way in over his head.

As our review from TIFF notes, it doesn't quite all work, but that being said, it's not "Twilight" either and if you're longing for a look at vampires that doesn't involve Taylor Lautner, this will suffice. "Byzantium" opens on June 28th. [Kinogallery]
