All star cast? Check. Promising director? Check. Great story? Check. Frankly, it would take one helluva cock up to mess this one up, but "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" is one of our most anticipated films of the fall and with good reason.

Starring Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ciaran Hinds, Mark Strong, Svetlana Khodchenko, Toby Jones, John Hurt, Stephen Graham and Kathy Burke and directed by Tomas Alfredson ("Let The Right One In"), the film is an adaptation of John Le Carre‘s classic spy thriller that follows a British Intelligence operative whose task is to delve into the world of Cold War espionage and root out a Soviet mole in the Circus, the highest echelon in the British Intelligence Services. That alone has us sold and now with a fresh Oscar baiting release date, our excitement has gone up one more notch.

Focus Features has staked out a November 18th release date for the film. It will square off against "Breaking Dawn -- Part 1" and "Happy Feet 2," leaving plenty of room for people who aren't tweenagers or have to drag their kids to a movie with a great option at the multiplex.

“Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy” has been invited to open the Venice Film Festival and seems likely to do the fall festival jaunt. We can't wait. [BoxOfficeMojo]

Hedi, I think there was a TTSS meeting. Gary Oldman and John Hurt were also spotted at the same place (Soho) on the same day (there are photos). I suppose they made only minor reshoots without any of the main actors.

    Hopefully Oldman's first nomination.

Agreed. It's getting more and more annoying to see Tom Hardy to get top billing in this film. I've heard that TH and CF were spotted doing some re-filimg for this firm in London in the end of May. I'm afraid that the Universial requested to increase more screentime for these two for selling the movie. It's quite disrespectful to Oldman and the original novel as I am a fan of the original story, I am kind of losing my appetite after reading such article on Internet.

This are really great news ! I hope Gary Oldman will finally get the recognition he deserves and i have to join Susan and Holly

Mr. Oldman is the lead in this and so he should be named first .i think he is well known enough to get him top billing.

Great news! It's my most anticipated movie this year.

    And I agree with Holly.
I understand that Hardy is a hot stuff at the moment but Oldman is the lead in this one and most of the articles are not only misleading, but disrespectful to Oldman.

Its beginning to bug me that Tom Hardy is getting top billing in web articles. His role isnt that big. Its Gary Oldman's film end of story,
