Jessica Alba is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly this week (hello!) and while her skimpy bikini look has nothing to do with the black-and-white, contrasty-looking photography of Robert Rodriguez’s “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For,” we suppose it was a “sex-sells” decision. Alba on the cover means pimping the movie and that means promo material of some kind. So that means five new character posters from the film featuring Mickey RourkeRosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

It’s taken 'Sin City 2' much longer to hit the screen then originally intended. Rodriguez and cast have been talking about it for years and there was even chatter way back when that Angelina Jolie would join the troupe. That never happened as the movie was delayed for several years, but it’s finally coming this summer. It’ll be interesting to see if audiences respond to 'A Dame To Kill For' considering the look and technique that Rodriguez pioneered has been aped by Zack Snyder (“300” and its sequel) and even original author Frank Miller who appropriated it for his godawful “The Spirit.” Miller has a director’s credit on 'Sin City 2' (like he did the first film) and the official title (which we can’t really bear to use) boasts his name, but it remains to be seen how much he actually does.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For” stars (deep breath) Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin, Powers Boothe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Eva Green, Dennis Haysbert, Martin Csokas, Rosario Dawson, Jamie Chung, Jamie King, Alexa Vega, Julia Garner, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Ray Liotta , Juno Temple, Christopher Lloyd, Stacy Keach and Jude Ciccolella. The movie is set to open August 22nd. Posters below.

why hasn't Ian McShane been in these movies? seems he'd be a great addition and born to play a character in the Sin City series.
