Review: 'The Immigrant'"Smallville" star Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor on the show, revealed today via Twitter that he too has auditioned. "Read for my pal @JamesGunn GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY for PETER QUILL. What a treat! Thanks Jimmy. @Marvel," he posted on the social media site. So will he be the Star-Lord? Will he sign away his life to Marvel? Will there be even more names cropping up before this week is over? Who knows. Maybe. Probably.
It looks like the New Year has eradicated the tedious shortlist process that is now a part of the movie news cycle, so just note this for now and hope that Marvel makes an official announcement soon. The James Gunn directed superhero flick arrives on August 1, 2014. [IGN]

Does the average playlist visitor know what on earth a star-lord is? I guess i got a lot of wiki to read.

Outstanding actor that somehow never broke into the big time aside from his Lex role. Always deserved better film roles and I hope this is the start of it. Saw way too much JGL in 2011/2012.

Didn't see a single episode of Smallville but I liked him as Wally West (The Flash) in JL animations.

Weird--was just this weekend wondering what this guy was up to after rewatching his guest turn on an early It's Always Sunny. He was easily the best part of Smallville (faint praise perhaps), I'd love to see him in more high profile gigs.

Rosenbaum was the best part of "Smallville." I'd love to see him get some better roles.
