After a pretty rough second installment, there are a lot of reasons to be optimistic about "Iron Man 3." There's the presence of veteran action writer/director Shane Black ("Lethal Weapon," "The Last Boy Scout," "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang") getting behind the camera, and a pretty great cast joining the usual franchises faces, with folks like Ben Kingsley and Rebecca Hall on board. And then there's Guy Pearce, who we'd watch in just about anything, taking a rare detour to franchise land as well. And he's received his very own character poster for the movie.
Looking tan and cool, like he's stepping out of an episode of "Miami Vice," Pearce plays Aldrich Killian who works at Futurepharm with Maya Hansen (Hall), where they develop the Extremis virus that essentially forces the human brain to rewire its healing center and become stronger as a result. In the comic, their plan was to take it to the military, but they wind up stealing Extremis from Futurepharm and putting it in the hands of terrorists. And we presume there will be some variation on that here. But either way, Pearce looks pretty solid.
"Iron Man 3" opens on May 3rd. Check out the full one-sheet below. [Cinema Teaser]
