Making movies is hard work, but if you get off the right foot with good source material and a solid cast, you can make your life easier. And that seems to be the case for BBC One who have rounded up a nice ensemble of players for their upcoming dramatic thriller.

Making movies is hard work, but if you get off the right foot with good source material and a solid cast, you can make your life easier. And that seems to be the case for BBC One who have rounded up a nice ensemble of players for their upcoming dramatic thriller.

Hayley Atwell, Rufus Sewell, Michelle Dockery, Michael Gambon and Charlotte Rampling are set to star in "Restless" -- which is not a remake of the Gus Van Sant film -- but instead an adaptation of the novel by William Boyd. Set in 1979, the story follows a young woman (Dockery) who discovers that her mother (Rampling) is actually a Russian emigré hired by the British secret service in 1939. In flashbacks to 1939, Atwell will play the younger versoin of Rampling, chronicling how she's hired by the secret service, meanwhile falling in love with the spymaster (Sewell). Thirty years later, the spy wants to resurface and has her daughter track down her former lover (Gambon).

Theater director Edward Hall (who has also helmed Brit TV fare like "Spooks" and "Kingdom") will helm the epic three hour production, with shooting to take place in South Africa and the U.K. this summer. Sounds like a pretty decent bit of literary genre fare that should make for a cracking night of television, likely sometime next year. [Deadline]
