10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesIf you're someone who has slept on this up until now, let's bring you up to speed. "Trapped In The Closet" is a massive, sprawling, ridiculous yet kind of totally awesomely genius musical/drama/hiphopera that tells the story of a one-night stand with a married woman that creates a ripple effect of sex, violence and more. But, this being R. Kelly, he not only acts, directs and provides the music for this thing, he narrates the story by singing. And the strange thing is that it works, and it's compelling as hell, no matter how over the top it gets.
Anyway, after 22 chapters we thought the epic tale was over. We were wrong. IFC plans to drop further installments later this year and we cannot fucking wait. Funny, dramatic and audacious, we love this and we're glad there's gonna be more. No word yet on the start date, but now is as good a time as ever to get back up to speed. "Trapped In The Closet" is on DVD so track it down, and below, you can watch the first chapter along with a teaser for the next installment. [Pitchfork]
