The Wolverine Hugh Jackman

I’m a little worried about Hugh Jackman at the moment, frankly. Either his diet or the jetlag is getting to his head—he is crisscrossing the planet to promote the new X-Men movie after all. One week he’s all like, “I’m never going to play Wolverine again, 99% sure.” And then he flips and flops and flips and flops and has done so again

Recently the star had to play Wolverine back-to-back, once in last year’s “The Wolverine” and then just a few months later in “X-Men: Days Of Future Past,” which opens this weekend. And Jackman’s complained about his Wolverine regimen before. To gear up for the character he has to do months of strenuous workouts and go on a high-protein diet of boiled chicken several times a day (and not much else) and it drives him a little bonkers. The Australian actor has also suggested he’s getting too old for the part, despite the character being a mostly ageless mutant.

But whatever buyer’s remorse Jackman had about playing the role two times in a row, he’s apparently gotten over it. Maybe it’s all those parties with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy promoting the movie and eating whatever he wants, safe with the knowledge he won’t have to play Logan again for at least another two years.

"At one point, you're right, I said I was pretty sure [that ‘The Wolverine’ would be my last outing in the role],” Jackman told IGN basically referring to two weeks ago. “But I'm less sure as it goes along. Because after seeing this movie, the whole thing feels fresher to me than ever. And during this movie...I don't want to spoil anything, but it's kind of like a clean slate, so who knows where it's going to go. As long as I have the passion for it and the fans will have me."

Got that? And in a subsequent interview with IGN, the actor said, "I would love to see him as part of ‘The Avengers.’ Because there's a great dysfunction among that team, and I think Wolverine would fit right into that. He'd like that."

They could have super-hero battles! "There's no doubt he'd get in a fight with the Hulk at some point. Those two bad, rage-filled characters are going to square off at some point. It would be quite fun. I don't know how much fun to shoot it would be because I'm sure I'd be on the worst end of it, but hey, he can heal."

Uhh, OK. So that’s basically the polar opposite of “I’m never playing this character again.” Of course, a Marvel and Fox crossover like that will never happen in a million years because—money—but the real takeaway here is basically never listen to anything Hugh Jackman ever says when it comes to Wolverine.

Instead of being worried about Hugh's comments on whether or not he will continue to play
Wolverine, you should be more concerned, Mr. Davis, about the fact that he has had
skin cancer twice! I am a huge fan of his, and I am much more concerned about that!

The laughable part of this is that Disney could easily buy out the remaining Marvel properties owned by other studios but they won't because they know both Fox and Sony will set the price so high that it'd make any efforts they could do with the properties a losing effort in the short term.

Jackman's ambition toward being in the cast of an Avengers film hinges solely on him willing to double back on his word again, leave the role of Logan to another actor and sign a contract with Disney/Marvel to play someone else entirely.

I never thought I would say this but Jackman is annoying as hell. Let go of the role already for all things holy! Yeesh! And then you have losers being sarcastic in the comments. This is an observant article.
