10 Essential Cinematic Antiheroes"Hustle & Flow" director Craig Brewer has signed on to direct "Gangster Princess Of Beverly Hills," the remarkable true story that will be based on the Rolling Stone article of the same name. Brewer will adapt the article, in a project that looks like a return to the grittier fare of his early work, and be less like more recent efforts such as the "Footloose" remake and the concert movie, "Katy Perry: Part Of Me" which he executive produced. And the material seems to share a connection to all of his work so far, that of young people in some kind of peril or running headlong against authority.
It seems to be early days for the Paramount project, so no word on when it might truly get going, but we haven't heard much from Brewer in a while so we presume it'll be on the top of his list. [Deadline]
