10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesRecently signed director and franchise veteran Bryan Singer, hit Twitter today to reveal that Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart aka Magneto and Charles Xavier are joining the returning cast of James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult for "X-Men: Days Of Future Past." This has some pretty big implications, as in the comics the story jumps from a present day plot where the X-Men fight against Mystique who is now a baddie, and fronts the Brotherhood Of Evil Mutants and future storyline (where we presume Stewart and McKellen fill in) where mutants live in internment camps. Of course, what "present" is for the younger X-Men remains to be seen. "X-Men: First Class" was set in the '60s and we don't presume it'll jump too far ahead of that, so maybe the "future" will follow 'The Last Stand'? Confused yet?
Either way, it's massive news and one wonders how much more weight it gives the recent rumors surrounding Jean Grey's apparent appearance in "The Wolverine." Are we going to see some Marvel-esque world building between these three pictures? Speculate away, but we'll find out on July 18, 2014. Production begins next year. [THR]

the best way forward for this movie is if they just act like The Last Stand never happened

Logic and character development are not the reasons these movies are successful so why start now?

Good luck on this not being a clusterfuck of logic.

This could be awesome, but I'm always wary of how over-stuffed the cast in this series usually is. There were tons of complaints about the lack of character development in X-Men:FC.
