Latino Review continues their run of comic movie rumorin'. Today's rumor du jour involves the good folks at that site revealing that producers of 2015's planned "Justice League" movie have nailed down a cast of characters for the film, and are limiting the famously huge roster to five core members. We always knew Superman and Batman would be a part of the group, having their own separate franchises with this year's "Man Of Steel" and a possibly forthcoming "The Batman" on it's way. But who would join them?

If Latino Review is to be trusted, Warner Bros. hasn't yet given up on the Green Lantern, even after his movie reportedly lost millions: he'll be a member of the core five, though it's not specified if it will be Ryan Reynolds' Hal Jordan from the first film (we'll bet probably not). Also in the five is Wonder Woman, which no one doubted, with a fifth spot going to the Scarlet Speedster himself, the Flash. All of these characters have been rumored for their own film, so it's not a surprise to see them here, though it's interesting that the League would have a smaller roster than "The Avengers." There's also the suggestion that a "second-string" character would make a cameo appearance, with the source claiming it would be either long-time League member Martian Manhunter, the much-derided Aquaman (Vinny Chase is available) or Hawkman, who could also be in-line one day for his own movie. If wishes were fishes we'd all cast nets, Warner Bros.

"Justice League" remains on-target for a summer 2015 release, though no director is onboard, and we've heard from a few sources that screenwriter Will Beall has seen his work scrapped for now (which apparently occured long before his "Gangster Squad" laid an egg at the box office). But if a five-hero crew is in the cards, and a 2013 shoot being eyed, we'd imagine casting will start soon-ish. Though if that script really does need another polish, maybe cameras won't roll until 2014. Who knows?

Meanwhile, a couple days ago Latino Review also floated the pretty obvious possibility that Marvel's "Guardians Of The Galaxy" was looking for some star-power, in the form of either Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler. The report doesn't say who either would play, though it does seem like they wouldn't be in line to be Peter Quill, the lead character for whom a host of names are competing. Carrey has already taken a supporting role in another comic project, "Kick-Ass 2," and might be more amenable to a supporting part in a big blockbuster than Sandler, though a lot depends on the role. The speculation seems likely that this could be a voicework gig, since several characters in the 'Guardians' universe will be almost entirely CGI. As for Quill, three more names were added in Wes Bentley, Chris Lowell and Cam Gigadent to a candidate list consisting of every young white leading male in Hollywood. "Guardians Of The Galaxy" opens August 20, 2014.

To voice the little raccoon thing no doubt. As dumb as this movie looks it sounds kind of fun, and Gunn knows his way around comedy. Can't say the same thing about Justice League which - if it's tonally in line with Man of Steel (as gleaned from the trailers) - is a po-faced ridiculous car wreck of a movie in the making. At least Whedon/Marvel realised you can't take movies like this seriously, unless it's about a single character, a la Dark Knight/Man of Steel etc. Put a group of them together in their silly outfits and you're in a comedy - whichever way you look at it. Take it seriouly and you are F*CKED.

GOTG is really not good with its casting. Just give Jason Clarke a call
