10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesDetective Frank Tripp aka Rex Linn from "CSI: Miami" is latest name to join "Django Unchained," slotted into the role of Tennessee Harry. It's another piece of casting by Tarantino that has seen him dip into his fave TV shows like "Simon & Simon" (Gerald McRaney), "Miami Vice" (Don Johnson) and "Dukes Of Hazzard" (Tom Wopat) for some of the casting. And here's a bit of nerd trivia: in "Grave Danger," the characters play the "Dukes Of Hazzard" board game. Worlds are colliding.
Filming kicks off in January with Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz and Kerry Washington leading the extensive cast. "Django Unchained" seeks vengeance on Christmas Day 2012. [Deadline]

It's not his only TV venture. He also directed an episode of ER.

On the TV acting side, Tarantino also did that arc on 'Alias' back in the day.
