10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesDoing press rounds for his upcoming "Chinese Zodiac," the actor revealed that Sylvester Stallone has offered him a role in "The Expendables 3," and Chan is ready to accept...with some caveats. "Sly had invited me to be in 'Expendables 2' but I was too busy filming 'CZ12' and couldn't make a commitment to the film. But he did extend his invitation to the third movie, which I agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes," Chan said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur.
As you might recall, this isn't the first time Stallone has courted Chan, but it seems they are finally coming to an agreement on how such an arrangement would work out. And even though Chan recently stated he dislikes his "Rush Hour" movies the most, he's still eager to return to Hollywood for yet another team-up movie, something called "Skip Tracer." And while an old friend is looking at it, Chan is ready to try someone new.
"The script is currently viewed by Chris Tucker. Personally, I feel that if he were to pick it up, it would be better if we turned it into 'Rush Hour 4' but I do think that three movies for the franchise is a perfect ending. It would be better to start a new buddy movie with someone new," Chan said.
So, don't weep for Chan action movies just yet, he's still got a couple of them to come, but we'll wait to see if he's got the goods to be the next De Niro.... [Yahoo Singapore]

...and what better way to shed his old image than by doing sequels to his old movies (CZ12, Police Story 2013)? And a new Hollywood buddy flick that's apparently so similar to his old Hollywood buddy flicks that it may as well be Rush Hour 4. We've heard this song before.
