10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesBut Bloody Disgusting has done the legwork and reports that both Alba and Rodriguez are in talks to join the film, though it's not quite clear if they'll be reprising their roles of Agent Sartana Rivera and Lux/Shé or taking on new characters. Our guess is that they'll be back in the same parts. The story this time around will find our hero hired by the U.S. government to head into Mexico to take down a cartel leader and madman billionaire who plan to launch a weapon into space. There has long been talk about setting the final film in the proposed trilogy in space, and we presume that's where this is headed.
Production is gearing up to happen this spring, so we'll likely know more soon, including whether or not Robert Rodriguez managed to get his wishlist casting of Mel Gibson and Michelle Williams. But even if he doesn't, this will once again likely be filled with friends and pals popping up in small roles.
