Rodham,” the Hillary Clinton biopic, continues to move forward with a number of different actresses being rumored to play the lead role. But, any word of Jessica Chastain’s involvement in the project is certainly news to her. While at the Sound of Change concert in Surrey, England the other day, Chastain shot down reports that she was starring in the film.

“No, that’s actually not true,” Chastain tells journalists, “I found out about the project online, but, yeah, there’s a lot of stuff out there.” While she does not flat-out reject the notion of playing the former First Lady and Secretary of State, the fact that she had zero knowledge of the project before the rumors were posted online is probably not a good sign. Still, that leaves Scarlett Johansson, Amanda Seyfried, and Reese Witherspoon among the potential candidates to play the role. Considering rising director James Ponsoldt (“Smashed,” “The Spectacular Now”) is attached to direct the film, landing a highly-coveted actress for the part should not be a too difficult task.

As for Chastain, she’s got enough on her plate as is. She most recently wrapped on playing the title character in Liv Ullman’s “Miss Julie,” and she has current projects such as “The Zookeeper’s Wife,” Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar,” and Guillermo del Toro’s “The Crimson Peak” as well. So, even if she was interested in playing Hillary Clinton, she might not even have the space in her schedule to make that possible. [Metro]

After ZDT, maybe the political propaganda movie has been too much for her.
