Having already notched her belt with Terrence Malick, Kathryn Bigelow, John Hillcoat and Ralph Fiennes (among others) and lining up gigs this year with Liv Ullman ("Miss Julie") and Guillermo Del Toro ("Crimson Peak"), it's safe to say that Jessica Chastain has her pick of the crop. And now she's adding another big time filmmaker on to her enviable CV.

Chastain is coming on board Christopher Nolan's sci-fi flick "Interstellar," joining the already cast Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway. Yeah, we know, holy shit this cast. Of course, details are being kept quiet but we do know that the movie originates from a long developing script by Jonathan Nolan, with Chris putting his own twist on it with a rewrite, in a movie that will deal with time travel and alternate dimensions, telling the story of a group of explorers who go through a wormhole.

Shooting begins later this year with IMAX cameras in tow and you should already have November 7, 2014 marked on your calendar. [Deadline]

This is kind of random but I hope Nolan casts Ezra Miller in something someday. I don't know why but if eel like they'd bode well

    This movie will win ALL.

  • Real | May 3, 2013 6:48 AMReply

Great for Jessica. She will be great in this. Nolan is certainly assembling an impressive cast.

  • SEAN | May 3, 2013 3:44 AMReply

UGH ! LOVE LOVE LOVE she will be the next MERYL STREEP!

Yea I said it, believe it. Chastain is beautiful every performance of hers is soul stirring. Unbelievable. Every1 wants her! <33333333

    Now I'm interested! Awesome news.

  • Lan | May 3, 2013 2:02 AMReply

How are people getting excited about a Nolan movie?

  • James | May 3, 2013 3:19 AM

because he's undoubtedly one of our great and influential filmmakers.

  • Henry | May 3, 2013 1:50 AMReply

I love watching her on the big screen. That woman is unreasonably beautiful.

According to deadline she will play the THIRD lead. WHAT. WHAT. NO. You do NOT put Chastain behind Hathaway. You put Hathaway behind the 50th extra. You put Chastain right up there with Matthew.

So when is she filming the Del Toro film??? And what about the other film she signed onto recently? HOLY SHIT YA'LL!! But yeah... let's remove Hathaway. I'd rather have Mulligan or Amy Adams or I don't know... maybe Charlize Theron since she looks to not be doing anything worthwhile (aka not doing Inherent Vice!!).

  • Kevin | May 3, 2013 8:03 AM

The Del Toro movie doesn't shoot until early 2014.

  • Adam Scott Thompson | May 2, 2013 10:07 PMReply

    Multiple cinegasms.

Remove Hathaway and then there will be something to celebrate.

  • Pete | May 2, 2013 9:25 PM

Yeah. Get rid of 'Oscar Winning' Anne Hathaway. Boy, you're an idiot!

  • KT | May 2, 2013 8:35 PMReply

For starters, get rid of Hathaway.

  • GJG | May 2, 2013 9:13 PM

KT, stop your ridiculous hating. Anne Hathaway owned TDKR ( Jonathan Nolan, the films' reviews, and most film bloggers concur with me ) . Gary Oldman, possibly, my favorite character actor, was also singing Anne's praises. I am not surprised Chris Nolan wants to work with Hathaway again.

Am I the only one that finds her annoying? She was unbelievably ridiculous as a "rocker" in Mama, self important in ZD30 and worthless in the Malick film.

  • Adam Scott Thompson | May 2, 2013 10:09 PM

Worthless? Her performance forms the beating heart of "The Tree of Life." Do you even watch films?

  • Chris | May 2, 2013 9:27 PM

What exactly is "self-important" about her acting in ZD30? And how in god's name was she "worthless" in The Tree of Life?

  • Plub | May 2, 2013 9:05 PM

You're not the only one. I have nothing against her but I'm not yet convinced she's that great - specially in Zero Dark Thirty. Just look below and you'll see that Hathaway is unbelievably hated by most people, just like Cotillard (I'm from France, and hell yeah she's hated by most people). We'll see if Chastain doesn't meet the same fate in the next few years, after a bunch of big movies (by the way, thank God she passed on Iron Man 3, specially for this shitty part).

  • MM | May 2, 2013 8:43 PM

One of few people in the world actually... kidding, but Chastain IS perfect

  • The Seeker | May 2, 2013 8:25 PM

Not the only one, but the consensus says otherwise (and I am part of the consensus)

  • droop | May 2, 2013 8:12 PMReply

"Yeah, we know, holy shit this cast"
love chastain, like mcgnohgegyhey, hate hathaway, so i disagree.

  • [A] | May 2, 2013 8:07 PMReply

Cotillard, now Chastain -- Nolan seems to know how to cast female parts.. finally

  • @ooglemonster | May 2, 2013 11:34 PM

I was referring to TDKR. But she was only ok in Inception imo. I just don't think she's a very good actress when she's speaking English.

  • oogle monster | May 2, 2013 10:40 PM

@LOL- Cotillard was pretty amazing in Inception. What are you talking about?

  • lol | May 2, 2013 10:38 PM

Except Cotillard was god awful in her role.

  • Alan B | May 2, 2013 10:34 PM

And Spike Lee is looking back at you. He watches you, you know ...

  • Adam Scott Thompson | May 2, 2013 10:10 PM

A problem most male screenwriters have (lookin' at you, Spike Lee).

  • DAVEY | May 2, 2013 9:17 PM

Hopefully he soon learns how to write female characters.
