With two Oscars, two Emmys, five Golden Globes and countless other accolades crowding her mantle, it's safe to say that there isn't much left that veteran Jessica Lange has to conquer. And while most actresses her age would kill to have the kind of exposure and acclaim she's received thanks to her meaty role in the FX series "American Horror Story," for Lange it seems it's just one stop on a gradual slowdown, with retirement looming not to far on the horizon.

Speaking with the LA Times, she revealed that she has a bucket list of sorts of projects she wants to do before hanging it up. "I am coming to the end of acting," she told the paper. "I have a list: another stage production, maybe one or two more movies, one more season of 'American Horror Story'... and then that is it for me. Because I think that's enough. I want to go out with a bang ... or should I say, a scare?"

But don't misinterpret that for a lack of appreciation for the cable show. "It reenergized me; it reenergized my career," she said of her role as Constance Langdon. "There's no shame in recognizing that. It's exposed me to a whole new generation, which is a little strange. I'm not used to young people thinking I'm cool."

"It brought back the thrill of acting," she continued. "It was the perfect storm. It's all the tired stuff everybody says — age working against you, films that made your career not being made anymore. But also, I really needed a distraction in my life; I was still getting used to the idea of my kids leaving the nest. I thought it was a good time to go out on a limb because horror is not my thing."

The question is: who can fill the big shoes left behind if/when Jessica Lange leaves the show? Of course, as past examples have proven, all the retirement/slow down talk needs to be taken with a grain of salt. But can the hit "American Horror Story" exist without Lange? Let us know below.

Seriously, guys - do your research. It's REALLY not that hard to type "wikipedia" into your browser bar.

I think he knows it's an anthology series. I think we all realize, yes, it can exist without her. The implied question, though, is, will it be any good? Take her away and are there is enough talent left to pack the same wallop? That I do not know, but I do know that I love Frances Conroy.

Doesn't matter... it's an anthology series - each season is a different story with a completely different cast of characters.

Lange comes back as different people each season (which, I guess, works well for re-energization) - she was only Constance Langdon in season 1. Though it's true Lange is the highlight of the series, I highly doubt they'll cancel the show once she departs - especially considering how increasingly popular it's becoming.
