Review: 'The Immigrant'Deep breath -- Joel Edgerton, Jack Huston, Lee Pace, Eddie Redmayne, Jim Sturgess, Garrett Hedlund, James Marsden and Sullivan Stapleton -- are in the hunt for the lead role of Peter Quill. The short version of the story goes something like this: born of an alien race, Peter crash lands on Earth as a baby and is raised by humans. He eventually works at NASA, gets sent to a space station, where he encounters Master Of The Sun who names him the next Star-Lord. Fast-forward a bit and he's part of the Guardians Of The Galaxy who team up with The Avengers to fight Thanos. And with this film arriving right before "The Avengers 2," how much do you want to bet these two movies will cross-pollinate in a big way?
Thoughts? We think Marvel really needs to get someone with a commanding presence to sell this concept to the non-Marvel folks who will read this on paper and think it sounds ridiculous. It's certainly an interesting mix and Deadline says there may be even more folks testing as well. The James Gunn directed film arrives on August 1, 2014.

Lee Pace is clearly the best choice here. Give this man a franchise, Hollywood.

Kinda hoping for Sturgess, continuing his sci-go run with Cloud Atlas and Upside Down.

Still hoping for Nathan Fillion, but it doesn't seem like it's in the cards.
