Yeah, fine, we get it. Johnny Depp is a big star and if you're gonna drop early teases of a movie, he's the guy that's gotta be featured. But it would be nice to start seeing the rest of the cast of "Dark Shadows" (particularly, Eva Green, just saying).

Anyway, another new look of a pale faced, slick haired vampire Baranabas Collins has arrived. And yeah, being undead isn't so hot for your complexion. As you know, the movie is a Tim Burton directed adaptation of the cult ‘60s show that nobody remembers, that centers on the playboy Barnabas who breaks the heart of the witch Angelique Brouchard (Green) in 1752 and, in her fury, she turns him into a vampire and buries him alive. When he reawakens in 1972, he returns to Collinwood Manor to find his estate and family in ruins (but his hair is in immaculate condition).

The period and fantasy setting could either be great or allow Burton to indulge in his worst tendencies, but we'll see. The cast -- which includes Bella Heathcote, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Chloe Moretz and Jonny Lee Miller -- is pretty great, so we're staying optimistic. "Dark Shadows" hits on May 11th. [via STYD]

once again Tim Burton is going overboard with a remake and making Depp look silly and cartoonish like Charlie & Choc factory... Depp looks more like he could be in Twilight

"cult ‘60s show that nobody remembers"
A bit oxymoronic, don't you think? Or does its (very sizable) cult not count on those days the site is hard-pressed to have its snark and eat it too?

Depp looks 10 years younger! He looks like the freaky superstar that he is. Voted the nation's favorite star for the 2nd consecutive year. Bow to him! This film shall no doubt be entertaining and pleasing for all ages! Can't wait.

I know its unfair to judge the movie without having seen any footage/read the script but Burton has really been running on creative fumes for a while now and Depp is slowly turning into a caricature of himself, at least when Burton is behind the camera. Hope I'm wrong but I think that Frankenweenie is the safer bet this year, if only because producers take extra care to make sure the script isn't shit when its animation, especially something as time-consuming as stop-motion.

You're a bit late to the party. It was only funny once.
