10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesAccording to The Wrap, the comedic tale of revenge is titled "Clear History," and has added Kate Hudson, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan, Phillip Baker Hall, and JB Smoove to join its previously announced trio. The film will star David as a former marketing executive who watched his former business rival (Hamm) prosper on his work while his own life and marriage went down the drain. Having moved to Martha's Vineyard under an assumed name, David plots the ultimate revenge when Hamm shows up on the island to renovate his summer home. McBride will play David's best friend, while Ryan will play David's ex-girlfriend, who reportedly holds an "explicit secret." As for Keaton, he'll play an eccentric operator of a quarry, with Hader as his friend and henchman, in what we're hoping will be more than just a cameo. It was refreshing to watch Keaton cut loose a little in "The Other Guys," even if he was used sparingly, and hopefully, "Clear History" offers him the chance to remind everyone that he can be pretty hilarious.
As for the rest of the cast, Hall is playing the foreman of a local construction project and Mendes is playing a woman who takes an off-handed suggestion from David way too seriously. Smoove will play a guy who blames David for the end of his relationship, and hopefully the role is one that allows him to play off of the actor as he did in 'Curb,' which would be welcome news for fans of the show, which has yet to announce a ninth season.
Looks like "Clear History" will fill that void instead. Greg Mottola ("Superbad," "Paul") will direct.
