With the “Entourage” movie officially “a go” and the ensemble of bros—brosemble?—locked up, it’s time to finalize the most important part of any possible “Entourage” movie: Which hottie will be the object of Adrian Grenier’s affections? The Wrap reports that the unique thespian talents of Kate Upton are being sought for “the female lead.” If she lands the role it’ll be only her fourth big-screen appearance, following her casting earlier this year opposite Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann in “The Other Woman.”
Despite having beloved turns on the small screen as the ill-fated Stringer Bell in “The Wire” and as the eponymous detective in “Luther,” Idris Elba has yet to truly break out into mainstream success, but that may change with his new role. THR reports Elba will get his own starring action vehicle with “Bastille Day,” which will follow a young American artist and a washed up CIA agent who are improbably paired up to stop an attack on the city. Though “Taken” director Pierre Morel was originally tasked with directorial duties, it would appear that he’s dropped out and no one has been tapped to replace him. Yet. With Elba turning heads as Nelson Mandela in “Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom,” we won’t be surprised to see the film bumped up in the production timeline.
Though Lisa Cholodenko was swapped out for “Anvil!” and “Hitchcock” director Sacha Gervasi, things are moving along swimmingly for the Chloe Moretz-starring “November Criminals.” The Wrap is reporting Catherine Keener and unknown Travis Tope have joined the adaptation of the 2011 Sam Munson novel which follows a student who delves into the Washington, D.C. underbelly to solve the mystery behind the death of another student. Filming is scheduled to begin in February.
