Keith Richards' 'Life' Autobiography Being Made Into A Biopic

Is there anyone fucking cooler than Keith Richards? Trick question, because the answer is: no. One half of the legendary Glimmer Twins, the legendary axeman who by all accounts should have died multiple times by now, is simply one of the most influential rock 'n roll musicians of the last half century and more. And it's not just his unique style (and lifestyle) that legions have followed, but his life is the stuff of myth. Last year, Richards spilled the beans on his life in his extremely well received, best-selling autobiography last year "Life" and surprise, surprise, a biopic is already in the works. However, it's very early days.

“There are feelers out at the minute [but] I’m in no rush right at the moment. Also, how are they going to find me? The idea of a succession of Keith Richards coming down is horrifying,” Richards told The Telegraph at the GQ Awards where the Rolling Stone member picked up Writer Of The Year. That's right, Richards is now a legit author. Put that in your skull shaped ring.

Of course, the question of who should play Richards in a movie is a big one, and the most obvious choice is Johnny Depp. As the story now goes, the actor's portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates Of The Caribbean" franchise was inspired by Richards (who has made appearances in the films) and the two are working together on a long gestating documentary as well. But whether that dream casting comes to pass or even if this movie gets made is just too early to tell. But certainly, Richards' life is perfect fodder for a biopic with great music, debauchery, sex, drugs and anything else you'd want in a rock 'n roll flick. Let's hope the stone gets rolling on this one soon (sorry).
