10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesDeadline reports that Kline has joined the project, which was written by Dan Fogelman ("Crazy Stupid Love"), Adam Brooks ("Definitely Maybe") and Alan Yang ("Parks & Recreation"), so there may be hope that this is a better-than-average Las Vegas bachelor party comedy. Shooting starts in September.
Fresh off of his turn in "Snow White and the Huntsman," British actor Sam Claflin has joined the thriller "Overdrive" opposite Karl Urban. Claflin replaces the previously cast Ben Barnes, who, along with Urban, took over for the initially-cast Matthew Goode and Alex Pettyfer last year. The story, written by "Wanted" writers Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, centers on two American car-thieving brothers who take their talents to France, only to run into trouble with a dangerous black marketer.
As the title suggests, "Overdrive" will involve a lot of driving, with producer Pierre Morel, who directed the thriller "Taken," commenting that "we're going to do things that you've never seen actual cars do before on screen," which probably sent Justin Lin into a prolonged, maddening rage. Shooting will begin in Marseilles this summer. Emilia Clarke ("Game of Thrones") co-stars. [Variety]
Post-"Gossip Girl," Jessica Szohr continues to add roles to her schedule, including a part in the Vince Vaughn/Owen Wilson comedy "The Internship." Scripted by Vaughn, the plot sees the "Wedding Crashers" stars play two middle age guys who lose their jobs and have to start over at the bottom. Szohr will play dance instructor Marielena who also has a side "dancing" job that she keeps a secret. Rose Byrne was cast last month as a high-ranking exec who starts a relationship with Wilson, so perhaps Szohr is Vaughn's love interest? Oh, also, she's also probably a stripper if you haven't guessed that yet.
Szohr is also taking a role in "Ten Cent Pistol" as Jena Malone's best friend. The movie follows of two brothers whose crimes spiral into a bad place (perhaps they should go to France?). Joe Mantegna and Adam Arkin co-star in the movie, which is shooting now in L.A. [Deadline]
