With “Silent Hill: Revelation 3D,” filmgoers are about to learn what TV fans have known for quite awhile now about “Games Of Thrones” actor Kit Harington. As the smoldering Jon Snow, Harington has earned himself quite the fan base, so few would be surprised to know that he’s hoping to branch out into film in a major way.

While Harington refused to divulge any information about the coming season of the series for fear of spoiling it for fans who haven’t read the book, he’s still stunned that the show has become such a phenomenon. “It was my first TV or film gig,” he told us in a recent interview, noting he was a longtime fan of HBO‘s original programming. “I don’t think any of us were prepared for this, we thought it would be a ‘Star Trek’ type of thing. But it sort of branched out. You meet people who you never thought would be ‘Thrones’ fans. And that’s just good storytelling.”

One of the bigger upcoming roles is in the fantasy film “The Seventh Son,” where he appears alongside Jeff Bridges. The spoiler-conscious Harington notes that he’s not signed for future installments, even though “The Seventh Son” is eyed as a potential trilogy. But as long as he got to work with Bridges, that’s fine with him. “I genuinely believe anything Jeff Bridges puts his name to has got to be good,” says Harington. “He’s just fantastic in it. He does something very surreal and unique and original with the part he is playing. It’s one of those things where, is it crazy or is it brilliance? And I think it’s brilliance.” He also got firsthand experience watching a moment that will excite film buffs. “I did my scenes with Jeff and Julianne Moore,” Harington boasts. “It was the first time they reunited since ‘The Big Lebowski.’ So I was witnessing a moment in history!”

Early next year, Harington will be shooting a thriller called “Greenland Time,” playing a drunk driver who kills the young child of a woman played by Vera Farmiga. Harington describes it as a “two-hander” and says, “I’m really really looking forward to it. It’s a kind of psychological thriller about my character and Vera’s character, and the idea of crime and punishment really. And it’s so beautifully written.” He sighs, “And again, I’m going off to Greenland,” noting that “Game Of Thrones” is always shooting in frigid conditions -- even “Silent Hill: Revelation 3D” was filmed in chilly Toronto. “I’ve never worked somewhere dry or warm, it’s always wet and cool,” he laments. “A ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ style film would be nice.”

But you won‘t get to see Harington in the planned big-budget “Arthur & Lancelot” anytime soon, as it remains on hold at Warner Bros. for the time being. “Yeah, that’s still in the works,” he shrugs. “It’s been put on the shelf at the moment I believe. I couldn’t tell you what’s going on with it, or where it’s at. I’m officially still being considered to play the part if it happens. But unfortunately everybody’s off the project.” On the film, where Harington was to play Arthur, he claims, “It was a brilliant script. I got the part, and Joel Kinnaman was playing Lancelot in it, but it just didn’t happen in the end.”

“Silent Hill: Revelation 3D” opens October 26th.
