Review: 'The Immigrant'Meanwhile, Anchor Bay has finally set a date for the ensemble dramedy "Ten Year," placing it on September 21st, pretty much a full year after it bowed at TIFF. Starring Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan, Anthony Mackie, Rosario Dawson, Brian Geraghty, Lynn Collins, Oscar Isaac, Chris Pratt, Aubrey Plaza, Ari Graynor, Ron Livingston, Justin Long, Kate Mara, Max Minghella and Scott Porter, as the title suggests, this one takes place at a ten year reunion where various dramatic and funny and dramatically funny things happen. It's uneven to be sure, but if you're a fan of anybody in that cast it's probably worth a matinee and a tub of popcorn.
Finally, the Weinsteins have yanked "Halloween 3D" from its October 26th release probably because a) it hasn't started shooting or even been cast yet, and b) no one cares. If this one kicks back to life, we'll be surprised. [BoxOfficeMojo]

Don't remember who produced The Next Three Days with Russell Crowe but the decision to open it on the same day/weekend as Harry Potter latest installment was a disaster. Wish distributors would stay away from these mega-opening days. Good films get lost in the shuffle. Give Crowe and company a break.
