With music proving to be a key element in Baz Luhrmann's upcoming take on the classic American novel "The Great Gatsby," given how hard the push has been for the soundtrack, it's beginning to eclipse the fact that there are some very real movie stars in this thing. But today we have a bit of both as the nearly daily updates on 'Gatsby' continue.

First up, Lana Del Rey's "Young And Beautiful" -- which landed online yesterday -- now has an alternate "DH Orchestral Version" which you can treat your ears to below. It's basically the song you've already heard but with more strings and the same pouty vocals. Meanwhile, the entire principal cast of the movie -- Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher etc. -- recently spread out for Vogue Australia, providing some new looks at their costumes and characters and giving folks a brief description of who they're playing. The lack of fireworks and glitter is jarring.

"The Great Gatsby" opens on May 10th, the soundtrack hits on May 7th, and the film bows at Cannes on May 15th.

And here goes my daily Gatsby-defense to your daily Gatsby-update.... the Vogue pics came out awhile back, so really you guys are spreading this out... so I think you should take back your comment about how "hard" WB is pushing this film due to their lack of faith in comparison to the shitty looking Hangover sequel. The Del Rey song and the alternative version came out yesterday. DAY LATE, PLAYLIST.

Damn, those Catherine Martin blurbs are priceless. I can't believe this movie not only got made but it's coming out in just a few weeks, so psyched.
