We’re only a few weeks away from finally seeing how far Baz Luhrmann has gone with the 3D-ified adaptation of “The Great Gatsby,” and more marketing and songs keep surfacing. So head on down below the cut to hear what a Gatsby-inspired Jay-Z song sounds like.
We’ve heard quite a bit from the Jay-Z curated soundtrack except for the Jiggaman himself. Now with the album available for pre-order on iTunes, a minute-and-thirty-second preview of Hov’s track -- and soundtrack opener -- “100$ Bill” has arrived online. It’s hard to judge what’s literally half a song but we can’t help but like it already, and it includes some lines from the film -- we heard Leonardo DiCaprio and, we think, Joel Edgerton.
Last week an extremely short preview of the Lana Del Rey track, “Young And Beautiful,” appeared online, and now the full thing has surfaced for your listening pleasure. It also scores the back half of an extended TV spot that’s hosted on the film’s Facebook page. The Florence + The Machine tune we heard last week scores the front half.
“The Great Gatsby” waltzes into North American theaters May 10th and opens the Cannes Film Festival the week after on May 15th. Listen to Jay-Z and Lana Del Rey's track below along with the extended spot. [Real Talk NY/Miss Info]
