10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesWhile that all undoubtedly will give the film a boost ahead of its U.S. release, this latest development will do a whole lot more indeed. Martin Scorsese has agreed to lend his name to the Swedish crime thriller by "presenting" the film. So expect to see Scorsese’s name plastered all over the film’s marketing material, probably in a significantly larger font that will adorn “from the director of Safe House.”
“I was deeply impressed by Daniel Espinosa’s 'Easy Money' – by the harsh, elemental style, which reflects the milieu and the lives of the characters; by the powerful sense of fate, of well-meaning people who take one wrong turn and end up paying a terrible price; by the frightening and surprising evolution of the hero. 'Easy Money' is a tough story and a film to be reckoned with,” said Scorsese.
And we have to agree. We caught the film at TIFF back in 2010 and said it was "an absorbing story told like it has electricity pumping through its veins. The narrative pulses forward and the picture often smolders with intensity." It's easy to see why the film was a calling card for the Espinosa, so be sure to check it out when it opens next month. Not that it matters, but the picture you chose of Kinnaman is not from Snabba Cash. He is not too far out of college here and is playing in Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment in Swedish theater. Won awards for both this theater role and for Snabba Cash. Fine young actor, hope Scorsese hires him for something.

Not to be picky, but Snabba Cash played TIFF last year (2011). It is an awesome movie though and an incredibly intense (and oddly fun) ride!
