While Michael Giacchino is best known for working with frequent collaborator J.J. Abrams, and for his efforts on Pixar projects which resulted in his Oscar win for "Up," it looks like the composer to set to add another pair of directors to his roster of regulars.

Giacchino will be scoring The Wachowskis' upcoming sci-fi effort "Jupiter Ascending." The composer previously worked with the siblings on their largely derided, but cult loved "Speed Racer" and with his work on "Star Trek," "John Carter" and more, he's pretty much a natural fit this project. As usual with The Wachowskis, other than a logline, everything else about the currently shooting movie is being kept under lock and key. We do know that the story centers on a toilet-scrubbing Russian immigrant, who has the same genetic makeup as the immortal Queen Of The Universe, and threatens her rule. A bounty hunter is then dispatched to take her down, but they fall in love and go on the run.

Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, Eddie Redmayne and Sean Bean star in the movie that's now in front of cameras. No release date yet, but you probably won't see this until 2014. [Film Music Reporter]
