He may not be a familiar name like Mark Mothersbaugh or Jon Brion, but Michael Andrews is quickly rising into a similar status. He has composed for a number of notable films including “Donnie Darko,” Miranda July's “Me and You and Everyone We Know,” "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," “Cyrus,” “Funny People” and most recently, "Bridesmaids." He most certainly got to know both Judd Apatow and Paul Feig back in the day when he lent his skills to both “Undeclared” and “Freaks and Geeks,” and he's set to reteam with the Apatow fold on yet another project.

He most certainly got to know both Judd Apatow and Paul Feig back in the day when he lent his skills to both “Undeclared” and “Freaks and Geeks,” and he's set to reteam with the Apatow fold on yet another project.

Film Music Reporter reveals that Andrews will score the forthcoming romance "Five Year Engagement." Starring Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, Alison Brie, Chris Pratt, Kevin Hart, Lauren Weedman, Mindy Kaling, Chris Parnell, Jim Piddock, Jacki Weaver and Dakota Johnson, the film is in the vein of "Annie Hall" or "When Harry Met Sally" and follows the rollercoaster relationship of a couple across their titular pre-wedding period. The film goes in front of cameras next month.

It's just part of what is shaping up to be very busy year for Andrews, who in addition to "Bridesmaids," also has a score for the upcoming foul-mouthed laffer "Bad Teacher" on the way and a reteam on the Duplass Brothers' "Jeff Who Lives At Home," which also stars Jason Segel. The former film, directed by his 'Walk Hard' helmer Jake Kasdan, hits on June 24th and the latter has yet to be dated yet. At this point we assume "Jeff Who Lives At Home" will be saved for 2012 for fear of being lost in the already busy 2011 shuffle.
