Monaghan will join Owen Wilson and Pierce Brosnan in "The Coup." The thriller centers on an American family who moves to Southeast Asia and finds themselves entangled in a violent coup with merciless rebels attacking the city. And while the Yankees-in-peril-from-foreigners premise could be troublesome, here's hoping that director John Erick Dowdle ("Devil," "Quarantine"), who co-wrote the script with his brother Drew, has something of value to say. As for Monaghan, she gets the wife role. Like we said, she's capable of so much more.
Anyway, "The Coup" will shoot this fall.

Couldn't agree more. She's capable of so much more than a lot of the stuff she's been doing lately.
